Angela Gillespie, Sioux Falls, SD, died Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation with the family present was held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023 at George Boom Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial service held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2023 at First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD.
Angie was born the daughter of Terry and Marina (Ozolins) Arshem, on February 19, 1974 in Sioux Falls. She was raised and educated in Sioux Falls, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1992. Angie attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design for a year. She later worked for Harold’s in the framing dept and Aerostar, painting balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and for Disney. Angie was a local artist, that worked with ceramics, clocks, encaustic art and acrylics.
Angie enjoyed the outdoors and nature. She was very kind hearted and compassionate. Angie loved her dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
Angie is survived by her loving husband, Brian Gillespie of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Corrin Gillespie of Sioux Falls, SD; son, David Gillespie of Sioux Falls, SD; parents, Terry and Marina Arshem of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Chrissy (Travis) Thom of Dakota Dunes, SD; nieces, Chloe and Lily Thom; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeff and Rose Gillespie of Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law, Mark (Kaila) Gillespie of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Katie (Brian) Giesinger of Laramie, WY; brother-in-law, Andy Gillespie of Lead, SD; and numerous nieces. Angie was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Catherine Ann Gillespie, “Cathy” cherished mother, beloved wife, and devoted friend passed away at the age of 74 on Tuesday, October 31 2023, at Avera Hospital. Cathy was born in Oakes, North Dakota February 5, 1949, and was the daughter of Arden and Herman (Boots) Niebrugge. Her family soon moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she grew up, went to school, and raised her family. Cathy graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1967.
Cathy was a beacon of warmth and generosity, touching the lives of many friends that she kept throughout the years. Cathy was known for her dedication to her children. She was a tremendously hard worker and did everything she could for her family. Cathy was a devoted wife to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jack Gillespie. They reunited and married on February 24, 1990. They shared 33 wonderful years and 5 children between them.
Cathy was employed at Smithfield Meat Packing as a salesperson and worked there for many years. She enjoyed dining out and cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Cathy’s legacy lives on through her children, Jennifer Lord of Denver, her husband Trip Lord, and Grandchildren Max Lord and Joe Lord. Her brother, Tom Niebrugge, and his wife Anita and stepson Barrett Gillespie. Cathy is preceded in Death by her parents Boots and Arden Niebrugge and her son Christopher Chaplin, stepson Christopher Gillespie, and stepdaughter Stacy Gillespie.

Gail Gillespie age 74, of Sioux Falls SD passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 at Avantara Norton surrounded by friends and staff that cared for her deeply. She was born in Sioux Falls SD on July 21, 1948 to Johnny and Violet Christopherson. Back in the day, Gail loved a good card game with friends and family and loved cracking jokes. As time went on, she enjoyed her long walks down the gravel roads and to be in the garden picking tomatoes. She also enjoyed reading books and absolutely loved People magazine. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and she will be missed. Gail is survived by her children, Ken (Brandi) Jaques Rapid City SD, Kim (Paco) Aguirre Willcox AZ, Kristina (Jim) Hoobler Sioux Falls SD and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Maurice “Mory” Gillespie, 93, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Bethany Home in Brandon, SD. Private family services were held . Mory was born May 12, 1926, to John “Jack” and Rose (Ryan) Gillespie in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended Cathedral High School and Sioux Falls College and was discharged from the US Army at the end of World War II in 1946.
He married Mavis B. “Chris” Ugland on September 18, 1948 in Sioux Falls. Mory worked most of his life in retail sales, retiring from Sears and Roebuck after 25 years. Mory, better known as Dad or Gramps to those who knew him best, loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. He was known for his perfect pitch Irish tenor voice, often using it to sing along with the great 20th Century crooners. He loved playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren, who almost never heard the word “no” at Grandpa’s house. He was Irish to the core, and his family is grateful that he could spend one last St. Patty’s Day on Earth before moving on to celebrate with loved ones in Heaven.
Grateful for having shared his life are five children, Pam Gillespie, Sioux Falls, SD, Larry (Kim) Gillespie, Henderson, NV, Patty (Derrin) Walter, Auburn, WA, Joan Gillespie, Sioux Falls, SD, Rob (Renee) Gillespie, Sioux Falls, SD; 14 grandchildren, Sean, Matt and Kate, Terry, Julie, Sage and Christy, Shannon, Ryan and Molly, Meghan and Zach, Patrick and Ashley; 22 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Mory was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Boyd, Clem, Jimmie Joe and Elaine.
